Principles of Energy and Carbon Management - 
Mandatory Units

This workshop introduces the learners to the principles of energy and carbon management in the workplace.

 

This includes the economics of energy consumption and measures that can be introduced to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions, in addition to potential barriers to change.

You will cover the following outcomes:

Learning outcome 1- Understand the principles of energy and carbon

management.

Learning outcome 2 -     Know industry legislation, regulations, and

environmental and regulatory requirements, relevant to energy and carbon

management.

Learning outcome 3 - Understand energy consumption and carbon in the

workplace.

Learning outcome 4 - Understand the role of energy management in an

organisation.

Learning outcome 5 - Know the economics of energy consumption, supply

and demand, sustainability issues and role of the organisation in tackling

them.

Learning outcome 6 - Understand energy management within own

organisation.

Learning outcome 7 - Understand how water and waste management are

linked energy management

Analysis of Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions - 
Mandatory Units

This workshop develops an understanding of the principles of energy loss assessment and the skills for performing and analysing energy and facilities audits within an organisation.

 

It also covers knowledge and skills required to make

recommendations based on the outcomes of the audit analyses.

You will cover the following outcomes:

Learning Outcome 1 - Understand health, safety and security measures

when conducting analysis in the workplace.

Learning Outcome 2 - Understand the principles of energy loss assessment.

Learning Outcome 3 -

Know factors that determine energy and utility

consumption of an organisation.

Learning Outcome 4 - Understand how to estimate energy used from solid

or liquid fuels that are not metered.

Learning Outcome 5 -

Be able to implement metering and measurement

plans.

Learning Outcome 6 - Be able to contribute to energy and utilities audits

Learning outcome 7 -

Be able to contribute to the audit of greenhouse gas

emissions in the workplace.

Learning outcome 8 -

Be able to undertake analysis of outputs.

Learning outcome 9 -

Be able to make recommendations based on the outcomes of the analysis of data

Energy and Carbon Project Management -
Optional Units

This workshop will develop your understanding of effective energy project management.

 

Support you carrying out projects and managing tasks and how to deal with contingencies and reporting on the outcomes of a project.

You will cover the following outcomes:

Learning outcome 1 - Understand the stages of effective energy project

management.

Learning Outcome 2 -

Be able to plan energy management projects.

Learning Outcome 3 -

Be able to carry out energy project management

tasks.

Learning Outcome 4 -

Be able to adjust and respond effectively to unexpected change and deal with contingency risks.

Learning Outcome 5 -

Be able to evaluate and report on the outcomes of

the energy management project.
